waffuport: (How'd you get down there?)

1-choo!

Action;1766 Beaver Street
[While finding herself in strange new settings isn't very surprising at all, waking up in bed with completely different clothes is. So if her brand new family doesn't hear her in her room going "What? What? What??" like some sort of one-trick parrot, or the occasional "Hello?" as she wanders through the house, they'll find her still in her pajamas, investigating the fridge. Open, close. Open...close. Open--ooh is that an apple?]

I wonder who made this box so cold?

Phone
--'s this? Is it a gadget? Maybe if I do something it'll talk! Hmm...

[This is followed by the sound of her apparently playing with the dial.]

Hello? Hello? Mister Gadget, can you hear me? I wonder if Meg would know how it worked.

[Depends on how you define simple!]

Oh. [Alright, alright, he can see where she'd get that idea.] I guess it is like that.

[You'd think so.]

Doubt it. [Guess who isn't getting told about the post office.] But you'll get it back eventually. You'll just have to wait.

Just worry about yourself for now. You can think about helping others later.

Do me a favor and look outside at the numbers on the house you're in, then the street sign, and tell me what they say.

[He makes a note. That shouldn't be too hard to find.]

Beavers? I haven't seen any dams in town, so probably not.

[Good to know he ranks up there with beavers, Viki. :|]

I'm at 847 Goldberg Street. [What else does he need to tell her... oh.] And don't touch the milk that gets left on the doorsteps. It's all poisonous.

It is, yeah. [Sigh.] Yes. Poison. Mayfield is a dangerous place, Viki.

Only the milk the Milkman leaves is poisonous. Everything else is safe.

[For now.]

The Milkman is a lunatic. I don't think he has any actual reason to why he does it.

I get the idea that he's killed everyone who has tried.

He really is. It isn't that the rest of the town lacks in ways to fight. They have plenty of magic without runes.

[And then some.]

It's just the people who control the town are a lot more powerful than everyone together is.

He is, so avoid him. Keep away from the Smiths, Grady, the Postman, and the Mayor, too. They're all the same story.

The mail isn't deadly. Just the guy at the post office.

...at least it isn't usually deadly.

[BUT YOU HEAR THINGS, OKAY. About the mail.]

It still comes from the post office. Uh. [Why are these questions even being asked?] I guess he does.
